Meet the Founder Behind MPOSS
NaKisha Hawkins founded MPOSS with a vision to help mothers and sons heal from generational trauma through emotional wellness, mentorship, compassion, and community centered support.
Her mission is rooted in lived experience, healing, and the
belief that stronger families begin with supported mothers.
The Heart Behind The Mission!
A Vision Born From Healing and Real-Life Experience
FOUNDER
MPOSS was created from a deeply personal understanding of the emotional weight many mothers carry while trying to protect, provide for, and guide their children through life’s challenges.
As a mother, wellness advocate, and entrepreneur, NaKisha Hawkins saw the need for safe spaces where women could heal emotionally while also receiving practical support, encouragement, and access to wellness-centered care.
She recognized that many families — especially mothers raising sons — were navigating trauma, stress, grief, instability, and emotional exhaustion without consistent support systems.
That realization became the foundation for MPOSS.
Today, the organization continues to grow as a healingcentered nonprofit focused on emotional wellness, mentorship, family support, and generational restoration.
Wellness With Purpose!
Combining Wellness, Community, and Family Support
PURPOSE
In addition to founding MPOSS, NaKisha Hawkins is also the founder of Wellness Your Way, a wellness business dedicated to helping women prioritize rest, restoration, and self-care.
Through both organizations, she has created a connected ecosystem where wellness services, emotional healing, mentorship, and community support work together to strengthen families from the inside out.
This dual approach allows MPOSS to provide both emotional support and practical wellness access for mothers and families navigating difficult transitions.
The Why Behind MPOSS!
Supporting Mothers So Families Can Heal
NaKisha believes that when mothers are emotionally supported, families become stronger and communities begin to heal. Her work focuses on helping women move beyond survival mode and toward emotional wellness, confidence, stability, and personal restoration.
At the same time, MPOSS creates mentorship opportunities and emotional support systems for boys who need guidance, leadership, encouragement, and positive community connections.
This mission is not only about programs. It is about creating long-term change for future generations.
Founder Quote
“When women heal, families rise. When families rise, communities transform.”
A Community-Centered Approach!
Building Safe Spaces for Healing and Growth
COMMUNITY
MPOSS was intentionally created to feel supportive, grounded, and emotionally safe for the families it serves. Every program is designed with compassion, dignity, cultural understanding, and community connection at the center.
NaKisha’s vision is to create environments where:
- Mothers feel supported rather than judged
- Healing becomes accessible
- Boys receive mentorship and guidance
- Families feel connected to community resources
- Wellness becomes part of everyday life
This people-first approach continues to shape every part of the organization’s mission and future growth.
Looking Towards The Future!
Creating a Lasting Legacy of Family Wellness
The long-term vision for MPOSS extends far beyond traditional nonprofit support.
NaKisha envisions the development of family wellness campuses where mothers and sons can access emotional wellness services, mentorship, education, healing programs, life resources, and community care all within one supportive environment.
The goal is to create a sustainable model of healing that can expand into communities across Maryland and beyond.
By investing in prevention, emotional wellness, and family support today, MPOSS hopes to help transform generations for years to come.
